LETTER FROM THE CHAIRMAN

Dear Samfund supporters,

This past year has been an exciting one for The Samfund. With two grant cycles in place, we are proud to announce we have now awarded a total of $1.75 million to young adults as of June 2017, including our 1,000th grant.  In addition to welcoming a new Advisory Council member and cheering on Team Samfund participants in races near and far – including one across 3,000 miles of the Atlantic! - we hosted our annual Sambassador retreat at The Samfund’s Boston headquarters in June. Watching our Sambassadors learn and connect with each other and Samfund staff and Board members reminded me how powerful our work is. Please take a moment to read our FY 2017 Annual Report to see how your support empowers young adult survivors and their families to thrive.

LETTER FROM THE CEO

Dear friends,

We are proud to share with you our FY 2017 annual report. We continue to see profound need among young adults who are struggling financially because of cancer, and are constantly trying to find new ways to support them. To that end, we have begun to share our insight with a much broader audience in hopes that, as a community, we can address the problem before it leads to crisis. This year, we've partnered with Critical Mass: The Young Adult Cancer Alliance to effect change on a policy level, and have continued to publish articles to raise awareness about financial toxicity. This is an exciting starting point for The Samfund, and one that would not be possible without your continued support.

THANK YOU!

We would never be able to do all that we do if it weren’t for all of you, our dedicated donors, volunteers, and friends. We can’t say thank you enough, but we will keep on trying!
